While you may be familiar with many of these clans from stories and songs, we thought we’d take a moment to reintroduce you to a few of them-as they may not be the orcs you’ve come to know.įrostwolf Clan: Father of Thrall and namesake of the orc starting lands in Azeroth (Durotar), Durotan leads the Frostwolf Clan. The orc clans have long fought against one another for supremacy on Draenor, but Grommash’s bid for unity has started to close some of the rifts between them, save for one holdout: the Frostwolf Clan. and an Iron Horde army makes grim preparations to conquer Azeroth. Tanaan Jungle: Within the overgrown jungle home of the Bleeding Hollow clan, a Dark Portal is under construction. Nagrand: Among the fertile hills and outcroppings of Nagrand the wolf-riders of the Warsong clan remain a threat not to be trifled with Spires of Arak: At the height of their power, the regal arrakoa plot atop their high peaks, well out of the reach of the brutal Shattered Hand orcs and the wingless outcasts below. Talador: In the shadow of a besieged Shattrath City, the Auchenai Soulpriests actively seek to safeguard the countless draenei souls inside Auchindoun from a terrible demonic threat. Gorgrond: Deep within the desert canyons of Gorgrond, an arsenal of massive siege weapons built by the Blackrock clan is about to be unleashed upon the whole of Draenor. Shadowmoon Valley: Amid rolling moonlit hills, the draenei at the holy temple of Karabor unite with the Alliance in a desperate fight for survival against the Iron Horde and Shadowmoon clan. While some of the names and places may sound familiar, each has been built from the ground up to present a whole new perspective on the savage heart and soul of this legendary world.įrostfire Ridge: Across snow-covered wastes and beneath towering volcanoes, heroes of the Frostwolf clan and the Horde unite to repel invaders from their homeland. Across 7 new adventuring zones, Azeroth’s heroes will face a new foe: the Iron Horde, a powerful union of Draenor’s orc clans led by the legendary Grommash Hellscream (father of Garrosh) hellbent on bringing an unstoppable army through the Dark Portal to destroy Azeroth as you know it.ĭraenor is composed of 7 new questing zones: Frostfire Ridge, Gorgrond, Nagrand, Shadowmoon Valley, Spires of Arak, Talador, and Tanaan Jungle. Players will have the opportunity to experience Draenor in all of its brutal glory as they travel among its savage jungles, battle-scarred plains, icy wastes, and volcanic peaks. In Warlords of Draenor, players will travel to Draenor-homeworld of the orcs and bastion of the draenei-before it was shattered into what is now known as Outland. So it makes sense why quite a bit of time has passed since the events of WoD as far as Yrel and Grommash are concerned.A new journey lies before the heroes of Azeroth-one fraught with new challenges and new enemies, marked by great deeds both noble and destructive. Basically bringing their world into the same year that we're in so when we venture across it's all in sync like it should be without Visions of Time getting involved. Did everything on Azeroth happen, what, 1/30th of the speed when we were stuck on Draenor? How did we communicate with the builders and soldiers that were teleported from there? It's just convenience, that's why it's 'somehow'.I'd have said that the timeline on AU Draenor just progressed in parallel with ours for the year or so that we were connected, and then once the portal was separated because as far as they were concerned it was now 1 year after the Dark Portal opened they will have just continued through their timeline till we open a regular portal across to their world. Yes I understand clearly what's implied, but it's still awfully convenient.
